It is important for homeowners to understand the basic
terminologies used in the cabinet industry. We hope that the
following definition list is helpful to you:

items such as door hinges or drawer rollers replaced.
Typically this work is done by a handyman or carpenter.
Cabinet Refinishing - Typically this means
that cabinets are sanded and re-stained or repainted. A
painter will help you with this type of project.
Cabinet Refacing - when the doors of
cabinets and drawers are removed and replaced with new
material. Often a less expensive way to remodel your
cabinets. There are companies, such as Sears, that

final step of the cabinet construction process. It is when
finished cabinets are placed into their final place.
Typically, the cabinets have already been stained or painted
by the time they are installed. Installation is often
performed by trained handymen and carpenters.
Manufactured Cabinets - these are cabinets
that you typically pick out at Lowes, Home Depot, etc. They
have standard sizes and shapes. Purchasing manufactured

are built directly into your wall. Typically they are
